So many babies in my life right now! I was so happy to be back at the Birth and Women's Health Center in Yoder for this birth. If you are looking for an option in south central Kansas that is somewhere between a home birth and all the amenities of a hospital, you should totally check them out!
This was my second birth with this sweet family, and I think that lulled me into thinking I knew how it would go. This mama was having some high blood pressure earlier in the day and the midwives decided that this was the day Stanley needed to come for everyone to be safe and healthy. Inductions, even natural ones, are usually slow work. Once we knew that she was for sure in active labor, I figured we were in for a long night together and decided to just take a "quick" nap down the road at a friend's house. At 5:01pm the midwives called and said you better come quick. I was very much asleep but threw myself together and walked in the room at 5:06, less than a minute after he was officially born. It was absolutely crazy. He literally came within minutes of his mom realizing it was time.
You really never know how things will go and I love it all so much!
