One time my friend Libby asked me after I posted a birth video if I feel like I'm doing the thing I was made to do. It felt good to be so seen and known by someone who cares about me, and it was true, I DO feel like that when I'm practicing presence at births. But the thing is, I feel exactly the same way about those I get to witness. I stand in awe as I get to watch them doing the thing that they were made to do.
Watching Sam and Erin through this process was as usual, an honor. They handled it full of grace and strength, even as plans changed and they had to navigate the long process of induction. And just like that (okay not really, it was a very long day but you forget as soon as it is over), they were holding their sweet little Elle Mae. I'm so happy to be able to share this story and their joy with you.
